St Goar Germany

We.re rolling along the river in St Goar Germany today. The whole fifty mile stretch of the middle rhine river is a UNESCO world heritage site.... and this is well deserved!!! castles everywhere you look and vineyards in between. the gorge is very steep with tall hills on either side. last night we took a walking trail up to a castle.... probably 700 vertical feet and a 30 minute hike up to the castle, only to intersect a major road and find out the castle was closed! oh well, still a beautiful view of the river below.

tonight we.ll head to Frankfurt to see Heathers friend Val. she was an exchange student back in high school that stayed with the Harmons. hopefully we can connect with her at least for the evening. The trip continues to be wonderful, bikes are running well. Broke a spoke on my bike the other day and of course needed to take of the cassette to fix it... didnt have a chain whip or a cassette lockring tool so i had to buy them. doh.

hopefully well be able to post some pictures soon as weve been compililing some very good ones!

Heather and Mitch
