On Lake Garda... In a 4 star hotel... with a spa!
After dealing with a crappy ride yesterday over two passes (one through a super heavily industrialized city (gross)), then a serious rain storm, we pulled into a hotel on Lake Garda. Due to its excessive fanciness we nearly rode right by but we decided we'd check the price anyway. Luckily since its the low season the prices were low, the spa was free, and the breakfast was fantastic. I guess there is always a silver lining!
Today we're off to Sirmione, then on to Verona to say hello to Juliet. then its on to Venice and the canals. Hopefully the roads improve and the views get better each day!
We're going on a bike ride. A big bike ride! Hopefully we can update this blog often to share photo and stories with all of you.

gelato...and more pics!
As is a Wacksman tradition, sometimes we feel the urge to pull over and down a large amount of ice cream...or "gelato" they call it here in Italy. sounds healthy. we should eat a lot of it.
Here's some more pics (http://picasaweb.google.com/wacksmans )and my favorite video of Mitch in action: http://picasaweb.google.com/wacksmans/20100930BikeTour#5523848773517854914

secret campspot
Pulled into a campground right on the lake...it was closed down! but it was getting late, so we decided to hunker anyways...good thing the guy that showed up the next morning was nice - and spoke english, mitch used his charm and good looks to sweet talk him into saying "you don't have to leave now, just by the end of the day:)" the price was right!
bellagio
because we had not gotten a good enough workout that day, mitch made me run the stairs at bellagio...this was all i could muster:) just kidding, it is a super cute tourist town...had our first slice of italian pizza. we are on a mission to find the best pizza in italy!
basilica in como, italy
got asked to leave because we had shorts on inside....good thing we had some really stylish rain pants ready! Turns out they don't like much skin inside the church...I told Mitch that his speedo was out of the question:)
